Here’s how we’ve provided support for projects around the world

KJV GORGON - BARROW ISLAND, AUSTRALIA

Bibby Renaissance has accommodated workers at the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, the largest single resource development in Australian history, for over three years.

Bibby Renaissance arrived on Barrow Island back in 2011, and has offered an accommodation solution for a remote project with a large workforce.

With 332 bedrooms, alongside a large restaurant, kitchen, bar, gym, laundry and recreation rooms, Bibby Renaissance offers a self-contained, self-sufficient facility for workers on the island.

With specialist knowledge in accommodation, marine aspects and project logistics, our Australian office has experience in providing accommodation successfully to large projects around the world.

Bibby Renaissance has been providing accommodation for the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project for over three years, offering a suitable solution to meet the Project’s environmental and quarantine requirements.

Bibby Challenge has offered a great solution for our project’s needs, and provides our workers with a comfortable home in a remote location. The facilities onboard have proved to be very popular, and our catering and housekeeping company have found the spaces easy to use. We regard Bibby Challenge as a good value solution, and after initially chartering the vessel for one year, we asked for options to extend for another 18 months.
BP

BP – SCALLOWAY, SHETLAND ISLANDS

Bibby Challenge arrived in Scalloway in June 2013, to provide accommodation for hundreds of workers undertaking a major long term maintenance programme at Sullom Voe oil terminal.

Scalloway is a small town on the West coast of the Shetland Islands, and existing accommodation is difficult to find. With a large influx of workers expected, BP needed to find a number of rooms quickly in order for their project to run to timescale.

Bibby Challenge offered 280 en suite bedrooms, alongside a range of facilities including a large kitchen and restaurant, bar, gym and a number of TV/games rooms. BP initially chartered Bibby Challenge for one year, but also requested a number of options to extend the charter for a further 18 months.

PETROFAC – LERWICK, SHETLAND ISLANDS

Bibby Stockholm arrived in Lerwick, Shetland Islands in April 2013, for a ten month charter to accommodate Petrofac workers from the Laggan Tormore project; a large engineering, procurement, supply, construction and commissioning contract to develop the new Shetland Gas Plant.

The existing berth in Lerwick Port was well known by Bibby Maritime, and meant that hook up was easy and the vessel was up and running very quickly.

Bibby Stockholm underwent a major refurbishment programme prior to the charter with Petrofac, and offered 222 en suite bedrooms, a kitchen and restaurant, tv and games rooms, a gymnasium and wi‑fi throughout.

Bibby Stockholm received positive feedback from the workers staying onboard, and has further options to work for Petrofac until September 2014, should their requirements continue.

We chartered Bibby Stockholm to accommodate our workers on the Laggan Tormore project in the Shetlands, and the available berth in Lerwick port allowed a fast and easy hook up. The vessel arrived well in advance and was welcomed by those living onboard. The quality of the vessel was excellent, and the en suite bedrooms and public facilities were well received amongst our workers.

Bibby Progress offered us secure, high quality accommodation which worked well in our project’s remote and tropical location. The facilities onboard provided our workers with a range of activities, and feedback from those staying onboard was very positive.
DIBP

DIBP (Australian Government) – MANUS ISLAND, PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Bibby Progress was chartered by the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) in October 2013 to supply accommodation facilities for a range of workers on Manus Island (Papua New Guinea) during the construction of a new regional processing centre.

Prior to arriving in PNG, Bibby Progress underwent a $multi-million refurbishment to transform the vessel’s facilities, and offered high quality en suite accommodation with a range of rooms and facilities.

Bibby Progress had initially won a six month contract, but was extended by a further three months, securing her operation on the island until the end of July 2014.

AIBEL- HAUGESUND, NORWAY

In the early part of 2012, Bibby Bergen underwent a refurbishment programme to refresh the interior, and upgrade the kitchen, restaurant and all public spaces onboard.

Bibby Maritime held a Bibby Bergen open day in May 2012, and invited a number of friends, colleagues, customers and contacts to view the new and improved vessel. Following this, Aibel AS of Haugesund, Norway asked to charter Bibby Bergen for 13 months starting in June 2012.

Bibby Bergen accommodated workers during the build of the deck for Statoil’s Gudrun platform deck, a 2.7bn NOK contract, as well as during the design and build of a platform for the Dolwin Wind farm cluster near Helgoland, Germany.

Aibel had previously chartered Bibby Bergen for 12 months in 2006-2007, while undertaking a number of major projects for the offshore oil and gas industry.

Bibby Bergen offered a swift solution to their accommodation needs in both instances, with fast and easy hook up to an existing berth within their shipyard.

Aibel were pleased with Bibby Bergen, and found it to be a useful solution to our accommodation needs, with fast and easy hook-up to one of the berths within our shipyard.

We have been very happy with the service we have received from Bibby Maritime - getting the barge chartered, outfitted to meet our requirements, and to Escravos.
Chevron Nigeria

CHEVRON NIGERIA LIMITED – ESCRAVOS, NIGERIA

Chevron Nigeria Limited needed to accommodate a large number of workers during the construction of a new LNG facility in Escravos. With limited land-based accommodation available, and a volatile project environment, Bibby Progress provided them with a secure facility to house up to 900 workers of different nationalities on their work site. Initially asking Bibby Progress for six months in 2007, Chevron quickly realised the benefits of Bibby and the likely final charter duration will be around five and a half years.

WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC SWEDEN AB – RINGHALS, SWEDEN

Westinghouse were modernising a large part of their nuclear power plant in Ringhals, Sweden, and needed around 300 rooms for Swedish, German and American workers brought in for the project.

Hiring a number of hotels a distance away from the project would have caused logistical issues. Bibby Challenge was the perfect solution for Westinghouse to house their entire workforce in high quality accommodation on their work site. Two years later, Westinghouse returned to us to hire Bibby Bergen for a similar project.

The accommodation and the full service provided by Bibby Maritime proved to be very successful, and were very well received among the workers. It is totally hassle-free for the workers; they can relax in the internet lounge, play pool, table tennis, or work out in the gym, or just relax and watch TV in the lounges with fellow colleagues. Bibby Challenge provided high standard accommodation, along with the flexibility required to serve the complex needs of this project.

Bibby Bergen was used by BMV AS as it provided us with a quick solution for our accommodation needs. We had initially signed a one year charter, but because she has been so successful in providing accommodation for our shipyard workers, we extended the charter by a further two years and nine months.
Bergen Group BMV

BERGEN GROUP BMV – BERGEN, NORWAY

BMV AS needed a swift and cost-effective accommodation solution, to house a number of workers arriving from Eastern Europe to work on the building of new geo-seismic survey vessels.

Bibby Bergen offered almost immediate provision of accommodation without the time consuming process of building a new facility, or the cost of using local hotels.
